On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took oath for the third consecutive time. He chose to wear a white kurta and churidar paired with a blue chequered jacket for the swearing-in ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. In the past, Modi has often opted for kurtas and bandhgala jackets for important occasions. Additionally, he is known for wearing colorful and flamboyant turbans during Independence Day and Republic Day celebrations. During this year’s Republic Day, he wore a multi-colored “bandhani” print safa. Notably, Modi is the second Prime Minister after Jawaharlal Nehru to be elected for a third consecutive term. Along with Modi, senior BJP leaders Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, and Amit Shah also took oath as cabinet ministers, with party president J P Nadda returning to the cabinet after five years, indicating the prime minister’s focus on continuity and experience in his third term.
