:Amaravati: Relief operations are underway in the flood-affected areas of Vijayawada. Minister Nara Lokesh is overseeing the situation from the command control center, conducting a review with officials on flood forecasting, boat operations, food and drinking water distribution, and power supply.
Currently, 109 boats are evacuating victims and providing food and drinking water. More than 15,000 homeless individuals have been rescued from flooded areas such as Singh Nagar, Ramalingeshwar Nagar, and other affected locations, where cell tower signals have also been disrupted due to heavy flooding.
Efforts are being made to restore the signal. Urgent steps are being taken to restore electricity to 139,815 houses in 49 areas of Vijayawada. Heads of various government departments have been tasked with overseeing these relief measures, while Lokesh is monitoring the situation regularly. Drones are being utilized to identify issues in flood-prone areas and issue orders accordingly.
