Though he once associated with the Telugu Desam Party, he remained relatively inactive in political matters after that. He supported the party during NTR’s era, but later distanced himself. Despite this, it is known among close circles that he has always been a supporter of Chandrababu Naidu and the Telugu Desam Party.
Until now, Rajendra Prasad had avoided commenting on politics, but recently, in a podcast, he spoke at length about political issues.
Expressing his admiration for NTR, he took a sharp jibe indrectly at Lakshmi Parvathi, accusing her of being responsible for distancing NTR from everyone. He claimed that she had intentionally orchestrated a plan to destroy NTR.
He also discussed the controversial Viceroy episode, where opponents repeatedly criticized Chandrababu Naidu and caused him trouble.
Rajendra Prasad said, “When the big man (NTR) passed away, I cried more than his children. If you watch the video, you’ll see me crying on his body. For the first time, I’m saying why I did that. NTR is like a god to me. He was a divine figure who showed us what a god should be like. But, at one point, misfortune struck him. When she (Lakshmi Parvathi) entered his life, everything changed. Her overacting became unbearable. At that point, everyone together, under the leadership of Nara Chandrababu Naidu, managed to get out of that situation. It was his leadership that saved everyone and the TDP.
I might be seen as disrespectful when I speak of her, but frankly, I don’t have any respect for her. There’s no need for it. In my opinion, she came up with a plan, entered his life, and distanced him from all of us. If you look at the election coverage from that time, I can proudly say that I was one of the key people who stepped on her in protest to show my disapproval.
