‘Ka’ Safe: ETV Win’s Victory Against Piracy

Piracy remains a persistent challenge for the film industry. Over several years, many producers are impacted by it. Despite the use of advanced technology, not everyone is successful in dealing the piracy issue. However, the OTT platform ETV Win seems to have cracked the code. Earlier, they won a fight against the piracy and even recreated the success in protecting the new release, Ka, from getting pirated.

The buzz is that the OTT platform ensured to restrict the content to mobile and TV platforms, excluding desktop and laptop options, making screen capturing or downloading more difficult. ETV Win seems to be developing some tech-driven anti-piracy measures.

This isn’t ETV Win’s first success in tackling piracy. A similar approach was employed during the release of Veeranjaneyulu Vihara Yatra, which also saw reduced piracy. These methods contrast with global giants like Netflix and Amazon Prime, which still struggle with widespread content leaks despite significant investments in anti-piracy technology.

The exclusivity of the content will drive more users to subscribe to the platform. If platforms continue developing and implementing such measures, they could help sustain the coexistence of theatrical and digital releases.

On the flip side, Lucky Baskhar that was released on Netflix around the same time was already available on pirated sites.
