Modi Affirms Election Verdict: Rejects Propaganda, Embraces Performance and Constitutional Spirit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Wednesday that the 2024 general election verdict indicated that people have rejected propaganda and voted for performance. In response to the debate on a motion thanking the President for her address to the joint sitting of the Parliament, he mentioned that the politics of misleading people has been defeated. In his address in the Rajya Sabha, Modi emphasized that for his party, the BJP, the Constitution is not merely a compilation of articles, but its spirit and words are also very important. He stated that it acts as a lighthouse for governments, and added that Constitution Day will disseminate the spirit of the Constitution in the country. Modi highlighted that this is the first time in six decades that a government has been re-elected after being in office for 10 years. He also stated that the third term for the BJP-led NDA is aimed at making India a developed and self-reliant nation. He mentioned that the verdict is to make India the world’s third-largest economy, moving up from the current fifth position. He also took aim at the Congress for its statement that the country was bound to grow irrespective of who was in power, stating that those who ran the government on autopilot can only make such statements.
