In May 2024, Maruti Suzuki India reported a 2 percent year-on-year decrease in total wholesales, with 174,551 units sold. This is down from the 178,083 units sold to dealers in the same month last year. Domestic passenger vehicle sales saw a slight increase to 144,002 units from 143,708 units in the previous year. However, sales of mini segment cars (Alto and S-Presso) decreased to 9,902 units from 12,236 units, while sales of compact cars (Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S, and WagonR) fell to 68,206 units from 71,419 units. On the other hand, utility vehicle sales rose to 54,204 units from 46,243 units. Van sales decreased to 10,960 units from 12,818 units, and sales of the light commercial vehicle Super Carry decreased to 2,692 units from 2,888 units. Additionally, exports declined to 17,367 units from 26,477 units in the same period last year.
