Lokesh assures Goldsmiths Corporation within six months

Minister for HRD and IT, Nara Lokesh, has announced the establishment of a Goldsmiths Corporation within six months, addressing the longstanding demands of the goldsmith community. The announcement came during a well-attended Prajadarbar held on Tuesday, where a diverse crowd of employees, youth, and representatives from various communities gathered to seek solutions to their issues.

Lokesh assured attendees of prompt action on their concerns. He specifically directed officials to investigate and provide detailed reports on the challenges faced by goldsmiths, highlighting that many families in Mangalagiri rely on this profession. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to transforming Mangalagiri into a gold hub. In a separate session at Undavalli Panchayat, women sanitation workers brought forth serious complaints against supervisor Pilli Chiranjeevi, an aide of former MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy.

The workers accused Chiranjeevi of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment. They also requested wage increases and the provision of farmer labor pensions. Lokesh assured the women that stringent action would be taken against those found guilty of harassment, underscoring the government’s dedication to protecting workers’ rights and improving their working conditions.
