Liquor manufacturers plan doorstep delivery

The Capital News

Liquor enthusiasts may soon have reason to celebrate as the possibility of home delivery of liquor looms on the horizon. Liquor manufacturers are gearing up to launch a pilot project initially in States such as Delhi, Karnataka, Haryana, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Goa, and Kerala. Discussions are underway with delivery platforms like Swiggy and Zomato to facilitate the delivery of alcohol directly to consumers’ doorsteps.

The success of implementing liquor home delivery hinges on the cooperation of these platforms or the potential emergence of new delivery solutions. Currently, Odisha and West Bengal already offer home delivery of liquor, setting a precedent that other States may follow pending government approvals. If all regulatory hurdles are cleared, liquor aficionados could soon enjoy the convenience of doorstep delivery across various States
