An FIR has been filed against 15 individuals for disrupting the construction work of a Dedicated Freight Corridor project in Maharashtra’s Thane district. The incident occurred in Bhiwandi on June 13, when construction of pillars for a flyover linking a railway crossing was underway. A group of villagers, unrelated to the land, unlawfully entered the government premises, obstructed the work, and threatened workers. A case was registered against the 15 individuals, including four women, for various offenses under the Indian Penal Code such as assault, unlawful assembly, rioting, intentional insult, and criminal intimidation.
