The BJP candidate from the Chevella Lok Sabha constituency, Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, has emerged as one of the wealthiest contestants in Telangana. He recently filed an affidavit with the election authorities declaring his family assets worth Rs 4568 crore.
Konda Visweswar reddy declared his movable and immovable assets with liabilities when he filed his nomination on Monday for the Lok Sabha constituency. Reddy’s wife, Sangita Reddy, is the Joint Managing Director of the Apollo Hospitals Group founded by her father, Dr C Prathap Reddy.
Together, the couple holds a significant number of shares in the company. Reddy holds 17.77 lakh shares of Apollo Hospital Enterprises Ltd worth Rs 973.22 crore, while his wife holds 24.32 lakh shares worth Rs 1500.85 crore. According to the affidavit, Reddy has assets worth Rs 1250 crore, while his wife has assets to the tune of 3209.41 crore, with the remainder of the family’s assets belonging to their son.
Vishweshwar Reddy began his political career with BRS (then TRS) and became MP from Chevella. Later, he quit the party and joined Congress, but he was unsuccessful in contesting the 2019 general elections. He later joined the BJP
