Kerala Assembly congratulates Team India on T20 World Cup victory

On Monday, the Kerala Assembly congratulated the Indian cricket team for their T20 World Cup win, stating that the victory serves as an inspiration for future generations.

India ended their 11-year wait for a global trophy on Saturday by defeating South Africa by seven runs to emerge champions in the T20 World Cup at Bridgetown in Barbados.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan commended the team, noting that Indian cricket has the potential to bring the nation together. He praised Team India’s steadfast approach in the face of adversity, stating that the victory was well-deserved.

Vijayan also expressed pride in Sanju Samson’s presence on the team, despite not getting a chance to play, and emphasized that Indian cricket has the ability to unify the nation. He expressed the hope of achieving similar successes in other sports as well.

Leader of Opposition V D Satheesan described Team India’s victory as an inspiration for everyone, emphasizing that their comeback in the final match showcased the nation’s fighting spirit. He added that this success would inspire future generations.

This victory marks India’s second T20 World Cup win, following their 2007 victory under M S Dhoni in South Africa and their first global trophy since winning the Champions Trophy in 2013.
