Judgment reserved on locality of MBBS admissions. The High Court has reserved its judgment on the dispute over who is local for admissions in 85 percent seats under the competent quota in MBBS and BDS. The bench of Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice J Srinivasa Rao on Thursday continued the hearing on the legality of JV 33 issued by the government to require students to have studied in Telangana for four consecutive years (Inter, Class 10, and Class 9) before the NEET exam.
The Telangana residents are becoming ineligible even if they have studied in other states. Advocates for the petitioners stated that non-locals who have studied in Telangana for a few years are becoming eligible.
