Anantapuram: June 19: Former Tadipatri MLA JC Prabhakar Reddy has accused the previous YSR Congress government of causing significant damage to his transport business. Reddy claims he and his son, Tadipatri MLA JC Asmit Reddy, were unjustly imprisoned and slandered as thieves by officials and YSR Congress leaders.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Prabhakar Reddy explained that his purchase of BS-4 vehicles complied with Supreme Court guidelines. He emphasized that the Supreme Court ruled the fault lay with those who sold the BS-4 vehicles, leading to their surrender in Punjab, Tamil Nadu, and Madhya Pradesh. However, in Andhra Pradesh, cases were filed against those who bought these vehicles, resulting in his and his son’s imprisonment.

Reddy condemned the actions of the officials, asserting that they were arrested in the midnight despite having done nothing wrong. He issued severe warnings using abusive language, naming specific officers and threatening dire consequences if his grievances were not addressed. He claimed that the buses seized by the authorities were left to rust, causing him substantial financial losses.

Reddy demanded that the officials responsible for the seizures repair his buses at their own expense within ten days. He warned of further actions, including protests at the homes of Transport Commissioner DTC Sivaprasad and other officials. He also directed his ire towards former minister Perni Nani and alleged involvement of YCP party members in burning two of his buses.

JC Prabhakar Reddy stated his intention to take legal action against those who seize his buses without valid reasons. He also threatened to protest with his wife in front of the District Transport Department office and the District Police SP’s office if his demands were not met.
