IMD forecasts heavy rains in AP from June 26 to 28

 The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy rains accompanied by lightning in specific regions of Andhra Pradesh from June 26 to 28. According to IMD Director Ronak Kurmanath, the districts likely to be affected include Srikakulam, Vijayanagaram, Parvathipuram Manyam, Alluri Sitamaraju, Kakinada, Konaseema, East Godavari, West Godavari, Eluru, Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Bapatla, Palnadu, and Prakasam. These areas are expected to receive light to moderate rains with scattered thundershowers. On June 28, moderate to heavy rainfall with scattered thundershowers is anticipated in Ellundi, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Parvathipuram Manyam, Alluri Sitarama Raju, Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli, Kakinada, Konaseema, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Bapatla, Palnadu, Prakasam, Nellore, Kurnool, and Nandyala districts. Additionally, there is a possibility of light rains with scattered thundershowers in Anantapur, Sri Sathya Sai, YSR, Annamaiah, Chittoor, and Tirupati districts. Authorities advise caution during thunderstorms, particularly for farmers, agricultural laborers, and cattle-shepherds who are urged to avoid staying under trees, poles, towers, and in open areas.
