There has been an increase in aggressive demolitions by Hydra in Hyderabad. After pausing due to last week’s rains, officials have restarted the demolition of illegal structures in the Katwa pond under Dundigal Municipal. Eight villas built on the pond site have been leveled, and notices have been given to 12 more villas. Lakshmi Srinivas Construction Company, which has undertaken the construction of a total of 330 villas, stated that the villas have been built on the 15-acre pond area in the buffer zone.

The villa owners are expressing concern over these demolitions, stating that they had obtained all necessary permissions for the construction of their houses and are questioning how the demolitions can take place without any prior notice. They are also demanding severe punishment for the officials who allowed the constructions. They believe that simply filing a case against the officials and demanding compensation is not enough.
