High Court orders IAS officers to transfer to Andhra

The Telangana High Court has directed Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers currently serving in Telangana to report to Andhra Pradesh. This ruling comes amidst ongoing interest in the matter from both States.

The IAS officers involved in the case -Hari Kiran, Sivashankar, Vakati Karuna, Ronald Rose, and Srujana (AP )-filed a petition challenging the Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT) orders. The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) is set to hear the case on November 4.

The advocates representing the IAS officers had requested the court to delay their transfer until after the CAT hearing; however, the court declined this request. The court emphasized the importance of resolving the matter promptly, stating, “If this is stayed, the matter will never be resolved.

You are all responsible officers. You should not cause trouble to the people.” It further reiterated that the Central government holds the authority to determine officer placements. Both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana requested a two-week period to facilitate the transfer of the IAS officers.
