From Wrestling to the Cage: Sangram Singh’s MMA Journey

Sangram Singh, the former Commonwealth heavyweight champion, is all set to become the first Indian male wrestler to transition to mixed martial arts. He will be the second Indian overall, after Puja Tomar, to compete as an MMA fighter. Sangram, who is a skilled wrestler, expressed his gratitude for the love and support he has received from the people of his country through his wrestling career and he hopes for the same support in his new endeavor. He believes that MMA is the future, citing its growing popularity in recent years and expressing his hope for the continued support from fans in India where the sport has seen significant viewership. The 38-year-old recently returned to wrestling after a six-year gap by participating in the Dubai Pro Wrestling Championship, where he secured a convincing victory over Pakistan’s Muhammad Saeed.
