Flood worsens in Budameru, 12 villages submerged

The Budameru flood continues to wreak havoc, with water levels rising to four feet by Friday afternoon, submerging about six kilometers of roads. The heavy influx of floodwaters has resulted in severe waterlogging across 12 villages in Nandiwada Mandal. Gudivada MLA Venigandla Ramu took part in relief efforts, visiting flood-affected villages and interacting with distressed residents.

He acknowledged the significant losses faced by both the public and farmers due to the unexpected surge of water from the upper reaches. MLA Ramu assured that he would bring the estimated damages to the attention of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and emphasized that the government stands ready to support all those impacted by the disaster.

Although floodwaters had subsided on Thursday, allowing residents to return home and begin cleaning the mud, a fresh surge of water has once again inundated houses, causing widespread distress. Officials have reassured residents that water levels are expected to recede by evening. Despite the continuing flood, the appearance of the sun this morning brought some relief to the affected communities.
