First Cabinet meeting of NDA government on June 24

Vijayawada:  June 19: The inaugural Cabinet meeting of the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh is scheduled for June 24. Chief secretary Nirabh Kumar has directed all department heads to prepare for the meeting, ensuring that necessary proposals are submitted in the prescribed format by June 21.

This Cabinet meeting will follow the inauguration of the new government, with elected legislators taking their oaths in the assembly starting June 21. The new members will be sworn in by the Speaker protem, and the Speaker election will also occur on the same day. The first Cabinet meeting is expected to address key election promises.

After taking the oath as chief minister, CM Chandrababu Naidu signed off on five significant promises, which now require Cabinet approval. The agenda includes the repeal of the Land Titling Act and discussions on the “Super Six” election promises. Other key issues include the decision to increase pensions and the filling of DSC posts in Andhra Pradesh.

The meeting will also cover the finalization of procedures for the volunteer system and wage increases and changes of names of some schemes and institutions. Additionally, the Cabinet is expected to outline the future course of action for the Polavaram construction project.
