A fire broke out at an industrial compound in the Dharavi slum area of Mumbai, resulting in burn injuries for at least six people, as reported by civic officials. The injured individuals were promptly taken to the nearby civic-run Sion hospital for treatment, and their condition is currently stable.
The fire originated in both a three-story and a four-story structure at the Ashok Mill Compound in the Kala Qila area of Dharavi around 3:45 am, according to a civic official. At least five fire engines, along with other firefighting vehicles and water tankers, were dispatched to the scene. Efforts are underway to extinguish the blaze, which was contained to wooden materials and furniture, as stated by another civic official. Preliminary reports from a police official suggest that the fire began in a textile unit within the industrial compound.
