Hyderabad; The fate of BRS (Bhartiya Rashtra Samiti) depended on the election results of Lok Sabha. It may be noted that the BRS faced defeat in the last Assembly elections after 10 years of rule.

Now it is facing challenges since its defeat. Several senior leaders like Kesava Rao, Kadiyam Srihari, Danam Nagender, and MLAs of the BRS joined the Congress and some other leaders joined the BJP.

Several MP candidates have shown no interest in contesting the elections. As per the reports, the chances of BRS victory were very minimal in several Lok Sabha segments across Telangana. Former Chief Minister and TRS founder K Chandrasekhar Rao made plans to strengthen the party after realising the ground-level situation. He conducted bus yatra in Telangana districts before the Lok Sabha polls.

Moreover, he could not conduct party meetings and frequent interactions with the leaders after the party’s defeat. He did not conduct a review meeting properly. It is a hot topic in BRS party circles also that he did not give any chance to meet him when he was the Chief Minister. It has also created a huge impact on the present situation.

As per the opinions, the BRS is in a strong contender’s position in Medak, Secunderabad and Khammam Lok Sabha seats. The Congress and the BJP are strong rivals in the election. After the performance in the Lok Sabha elections, the BRS may face more challenges again.

The election result of Andhra Pradesh and also in the Centre would impact the chances of the BRS’s future in Telangana, said a senior leader. The remaining main leaders of BRS would join either in Congress or BJP based on the result in the Centre.

Former Chief Minister and BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao did not have relations with the leadership of both the parties. Now the BRS is facing a strong threat from the Congress and the BJP simultaneously. It is a difficult situation for any regional party, said a senior journalist.
