Saddam Hussain, Deputy Surveyor of Shantipuram in Chittoor district, has been suspended for allegedly accepting bribes in connection with the approval of the construction plan for chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s own house. The suspension order was issued by the joint collector, following confirmation that Hussain had solicited bribes during the previous government regime. According to the investigation, it was revealed that Hussain had demanded bribe money from Chandrababu Naidu for the construction of his residence. This led to the stern action taken against him. Additionally, a complaint from a farmer, alleging that Hussain had asked for a bribe of one lakh rupees for a land survey, further prompted higher authorities to intervene. Leaders of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) have voiced their concerns, stating that Saddam Hussain had previously created obstacles in the construction of Chandrababu Naidu’s house. In response to these developments, chief minister Chandrababu Naidu has emphasized the need for a thorough cleansing in his constituency. He has warned that strict action will be taken against corrupt officials to ensure transparency and integrity in governance.
