Delhi Govt Calls Emergency Meeting to Address Severe Rainfall Aftermath

The Delhi government is set to conduct an emergency meeting on Friday afternoon to assess the situation in the city following heavy rains that resulted in waterlogging and severe traffic disruption in several areas. The meeting, scheduled for 2 pm at the Secretariat, will be attended by all Cabinet ministers and top officials. The heavy rains have significantly impacted normal life in Delhi, with the roof of Terminal-1 at the Delhi airport collapsing due to the rain, resulting in one fatality and six injuries. The Safdarjung weather station reported 153.7 mm of rainfall, which began around 3 am. Delhi residents have taken to social media to share videos and photos showing submerged vehicles on flooded roads and extensive traffic congestion.
