Home Minister Anita Vangalapudi has announced that a cyber crime police station will be set up in every district of Andhra Pradesh to combat the growing menace of cyber crimes. The minister also emphasized the introduction of strict laws to curb human trafficking. Speaking at a national conference on human trafficking and cyber crimes held in Vijayawada, the home minister stressed that protecting children and women is the government’s top priority.
The two-day conference, attended by legal experts and sociologists, discussed several strategies to tackle these critical issues. “We will consider the valuable suggestions from intellectuals and implement measures to appoint technologically trained personnel to address these crimes. We will take strong action against human trafficking networks and cyber criminals preying on innocent people through enticing messages and blackmail,” she stated.
Anitha urged NGOs and social organizations to join forces in the fight against cyber human trafficking, emphasizing the importance of vigilance among the public, particularly women. She also announced plans to upgrade the State’s forensic lab to function like a forensic university, equipped with all modern facilities.
The Home Minister provided updates on the high-profile case involving Mumbai model Kadambari Jethwani, assuring swift justice. “We have already suspended three IPS officers in connection with this case, and there will be no leniency for those involved. The arrest of the prime accused, Kukkala Vidyasagar, has been made, and further investigations are ongoing. Actions against other implicated policemen will follow soon,” she affirmed, adding that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is taking the case very seriously.
