A CPI (M) leader in Kozhikode, Kerala has been accused of carrying out an offensive campaign against Congress Lok Sabha candidate and MLA Shafi Parambil on social media platforms. The case was filed against P K Ajeesh, a member of the local committee of the Marxist party, following a complaint by a UDF worker. The accused allegedly made derogatory remarks against Parambil who is contesting in the Vadakara constituency, and also against the Muslim community. He has been booked under significant sections of the IPC. The Vadakara constituency has been witnessing a heated exchange of words between the ruling LDF and the opposition UDF over social media campaigns against their candidates. CPI (M)’s K K Shailaja is also contesting against Parambil in the upcoming April 26 LS polls.
