Vijayawada June 15: State Human Resource, IT and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh has directed the education department officials to provide complete infrastructure in government schools within a year. He held a review with senior officials of the Education Department at Undavalli residence on Saturday.

During this meeting, Minister Lokesh emphasized the importance of completing all phase-2 and phase-3 works within a year, including those that were stalled during the previous government’s tenure.

Minister Lokesh also inquired about the quality of the mid-day meals provided to students in government schools and suggested improvements be made to ensure the meals are tasty and of good quality.

Additionally, he instructed officials to study the sanitation management policies of other states, in particular, the policies followed by the Delhi government. Furthermore, Minister Lokesh ordered a comprehensive analysis of the number of students who have shifted from government schools to private schools in the last five years, as well as the reasons for the same.

 He also requested a report on general dropouts who joined the school and left in the middle, and the availability of schools to students in the respective villages. In addition, Minister Lokesh directed the authorities to provide a comprehensive note on the content and usage of IFB (presumably a type of educational tool).

He also emphasized the importance of providing textbooks, note books, and back packs to students studying in government inter colleges by July 15, and arranging for the distribution of textbooks immediately for those students.

 Finally, Minister Lokesh instructed that the transfer of teachers would be done transparently from now on and emphasized the need to utilize central funds fully. Key officials present at this meeting included Principal Secretary School Education Praveen Prakash, Board of Intermediate Education Commissioner Saurabh Gaur, School Infra Commissioner Bhaskar Katamaneni, State Project Director B. Srinivasa Rao, Mid Day Meal Scheme Director Ambedkar, Adult Education Director Mrs. Nidhi Meena, and Public Libraries Director Prasanna Kumar Reddy
