Colruyt Group Expands IT Footprint in India with New Coimbatore Center

Colruyt Group has opened its second information technology global capability center in Coimbatore. The first center was established in Hyderabad in 2007 and provides IT services to multiple business units of the Euro 10.8 billion Colruyt Group. The addition of the Coimbatore facility is part of the company’s India strategy to support the business continuity of its IT operations and services.

Colruyt Group India Managing Director, Hari Subramanian, stated that the opening of the new office in Coimbatore is strategically important and aligns with the company’s ambition to continuously add value to its strategic initiatives, focusing on digital enablement and transformation.

He also mentioned that Coimbatore’s rich and diverse entrepreneurial culture, a robust engineering hub, and a solid educational ecosystem make it an ideal investment location for the company.

The inauguration of the second office was attended by Belgium Ambassador to India, Didier Vanderhasselt, KG Hospital Chairman, G Bakthavathsalam, and Coimbatore City Police Commissioner, V Balakrishnan.

Chief Information Officer Peter Vanbellingen emphasized Colruyt Group’s commitment to sustainable growth in India with the opening of the second location in Coimbatore, expressing confidence in making the journey in Coimbatore a great success.
