CM Chandrababu reviews sand policy, key departments

The Capital News

Andhra Pradesh chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is conducting a review on the functioning of three key government departments on Tuesday. The chief minister is focusing on the sand policy, development of roads, and price control of essential commodities, areas that faced severe criticism during the YSR Congress regime. Given the numerous problems people are facing related to the availability of sand, the CM will review the necessary changes and additions to the sand policy. Chandrababu Naidu will also discuss the previous government’s sand policy. This review is significant as the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has alleged large-scale illegal mining and transportation of sand under the leadership of former minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy of the YSR Congress. There were allegations that the Annamaiya Dam was washed away due to the illegal sand mining activities. Additionally, the TDP had previously accused the former YSRCP government of completely neglecting road construction. In response, the current government will now primarily focus on road repairs. Minister Narayana is also conducting the final preparations for releasing a white paper on the capital Amaravati. Narayana and other officials will brief CM Chandrababu Naidu, who is set to release the white paper on Wednesday.
