CM Chandrababu announces opening of Anna Canteens

Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced that Anna Canteens would be opened soon during his visit to Kolanukonda Hare Krishna Gokul Kshetra in the Tadepalli mandal of Guntur district on Saturday. The chief minister participated in the Ananta Sesha ceremony at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple construction site. Speaking at the event, chief minister Naidu shared that the Hare Krishna Gokul Kshetra project is progressing with an investment of Rs. 150 crore. He mentioned that there are currently 20 similar projects across India. Naidu emphasized the importance of places of worship, stating that without them, crime and societal atrocities would increase significantly.

“Lord Venkateswara is our deity, the God I believe in and pray to. It is Lord Venkateswara who has blessed me. To create a poverty-free society, let us make Andhra Pradesh a zero-poverty state. Akshaya Patra has fed 400 crore people in 23 years, and currently, 22 lakh people are being fed daily through this initiative,” Naidu said.

He highlighted that Anna canteens would be opened soon, reinforcing Andhra Pradesh as a place for those who do good. Naidu also mentioned his promotion of IT 20 years ago, noting the significant presence of Telugu people globally.

Retired Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice N.V. Ramana, praised the initiation of a new spiritual trend in Amaravati as a positive development. He remarked on previous governments’ interference in temple affairs and commended Naidu’s leadership in overcoming obstacles to construct Gokul Kshetra.

Justice Ramana underscored the importance of preserving culture, customs, and spirituality, noting ISKCON’s significant role in this mission and their efforts to provide food through the Akshaya Patra initiative.

Justice Ramana also welcomed the government’s plans to renovate Anna canteens, highlighting ISKCON’s past support. He noted that ISKCON aims to ensure no one goes hungry, underscoring their considerable contribution to food security through Akshaya Patra
