Amaravati: June 14: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu wants to release the white paper after conducting a review of all the departments. So far nobody knows about the current accurate debts and revenues of the State for the last five years’ tenure.

According to officials, Rs 1 lakh crore debts were allotted to Andhra Pradesh after the State bifurcation.

Nearly Rs 1.85 lakh crore debts were added by the previous Chandrababu Naidu government during the 2014-2019 period.

There will be no clarity about accurate loans taken by the recent outgoing government for the last five years. The leaders of the TDP said that the total debts reached to Rs 13 lakh crore over the previous five years. YS Jagan’s government has taken loans from various corporations and the loans were not approved by the government of India.

Similarly, several assets including secretariat buildings were mortgaged by the previous government. However, the government distributed Rs 2.75 lakh crore under various welfare schemes during the last five years.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu also commented that nobody knows the present situation until they conduct the detailed auditing.

A senior officer of the Finance department said that some senior officials are planning to take sick leaves to avoid embarrassing situations. Similarly, the fund diversion and misappropriation of funds in various departments should be inquired about, said the official.

Against this backdrop, the State government led by Chandrababu Naidu has already given instructions to his team of officials to collect the information related to all the matters of funds release. As per the view, the State government will release the white papers in each department.

Chandrababu Naidu wants to explain the whole situation of the State to the public first. Later, the State government will take necessary action against the officials who are involved in the corruption and misuse of power.

As per the preliminary reports, there is rampant corruption in liquor sales, the purchase of lands for house sites, sand, and mining, and corruption in the recruitment process of Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission is an open secret in official circles. The government will release all the details after conducting an inquiry in detail.
