Vijayawada: June 16: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is set to visit the Polavaram irrigation project site in Eluru district on Monday to assess the progress of the works. The CM will arrive at the project site at 10 AM and conduct an inspection of the entire project until 4 PM.
This visit marks CM Naidu’s first official trip to the Polavaram project after assuming office. The project has been a significant priority for the State, with Naidu previously conducting weekly reviews during his earlier term in office. Under his leadership, the project had achieved 72 percent completion before progress stalled.
Naidu has criticized the YSR Congress government for its neglect of the Polavaram project, attributing setbacks to administrative lapses and flood-related issues. In addition to focusing on Polavaram, the CM has also emphasized the importance of other irrigation projects and the interlinking of rivers in Andhra Pradesh.
