The central government has allocated funds for the development of roads in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Andhra Pradesh has been allocated Rs 498 crore, while Telangana has received Rs 516 crore. The allocation includes 200.06 km of 13 state roads in AP, with funds coming from the Road Infrastructure Fund.
Additionally, Rs 98 crore has been allocated for the construction of the four-lane Shankar Vilas RDOB on the Guntur-Nallapadu railway line. The construction of a bypass road between Nagirekal and Nagarjuna Sagar is expected to reduce traffic congestion in Nalgonda town and improve connectivity between the two locations.
NH 565, a key national highway between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, connects with NH 65 at Nagirekal in Telangana. NH 565 passes through Nalgonda, Macharla, and Erragondapalem, and the development of this road will enhance the transport system between the two states.
In Maharashtra, Rs 809.77 crore has been sanctioned for the rehabilitation and upgrade of the two-lane National Highway 63 from Udgir to Degalur and Adampur Phata to Sagroli Phata section. This road links Latur and Nanded border districts of Maharashtra with Nizamabad district of Telangana, which is expected to boost industrial and agri-business activities in Udgir, Mukramabad, and Degalur cities.
The route is anticipated to serve as an important link between the mineral-rich Marathwada and parts of Telangana, thereby boosting the local economy and creating new jobs.
