Celebrities Showing Their Golden Hearts towards Flood Victims

Following Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s appeal for donations to support those affected by the recent floods, numerous individuals and organizations have responded with remarkable generosity. Leading the charge, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has demonstrated that actions speak louder than words, announcing a substantial donation of Rs. 4 crore for flood relief. This amount will be distributed among 400 flood-affected village panchayats, with each panchayat set to receive Rs. 1 lakh directly into their accounts.

Pawan Kalyan also pledged a contribution to the Telangana Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, highlighting his commitment to both Telugu States. The wave of donations has been widespread and includes notable figures from various sectors. Chief Minister Naidu’s wife, Bhuvaneshwari, has pledged Rs. 2 crore each to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Film stars have also made significant contributions, with Prabhas announcing Rs. 1 crore each for the two states, while Megastar Chiranjeevi and Allu Arjun each committed Rs. 50 lakh for each State. Additionally, actors Balakrishna, Mahesh Babu, and Jr NTR have each donated Rs. 1 crore. Other film industry figures have also stepped forward, including Jonnalagadda Sidhu with Rs. 30 lakhs, Vishwak Sen and Venky Atluri with Rs. 10 lakhs each, and Ananya Nagalla with Rs. 2.5 lakhs. Vyjayanthi Movies contributed Rs. 25 lakhs, and the Akkineni Nagarjuna family pledged Rs. 50 lakh each for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice NV Ramana, has also contributed to the relief efforts, presenting cheques of Rs. 10 lakh each to the resident commissioners of both states. The donation drive has seen an overwhelming response at the Vijayawada Collectorate as well. BSR Infrastructure MD Balusu Srinivasa Rao donated Rs. 1 crore, while film producer Ashwanidutt and the Indian Medical Association (Vijayawada) each contributed Rs. 25 lakhs.

Other contributions include Rs. 5 lakhs from the Siddhartha Walkers Club (Vijayawada) and TDP leader Rayapati Shailaja (Guntur), and Rs. 1 lakh each from Dr. I. Nalini Prasad (Vijayawada), Potluri Vijay Kumar (Vijayawada), Alluri Achyutharamaraju (Kaikalur), and Vallabhaneni Ravi. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu personally received the cheques and expressed his deep gratitude to the donors for their overwhelming support. He praised their generosity, noting that their contributions will play a crucial role in helping the State recover from the devastating floods. The Chief Minister assured that the funds would be used effectively to aid those in need and rebuild the affected communities.
