CBI Raids Residences of Trinamool Leaders in BJP Worker’s Murder Probe

The CBI conducted raids at the residences of two Trinamool Congress leaders in Kathi, Purba Medinipur district of West Bengal.

The raids are part of an ongoing investigation into the killing of a BJP worker during post-poll violence in 2021.

The CBI officers raided the houses of Kathi Block leader Debabrata Panda and another block president Nandadulal Maiti in the early hours of Friday.

According to a CBI officer, Panda, Nandadulal’s son, and 52 others have been named in the FIR lodged in connection with the murder of Janmejay Dolui, a BJP worker who was killed in the post-poll violence following the 2021 assembly election.

The CBI officer mentioned that 30 people were summoned for questioning in connection with the matter, but none turned up. The CBI is conducting raids at places associated with these people as they need to question them.
