Vidyasagar Elected as APNGGO State General Secretary

 A. Vidyasagar from Vijayawada has been elected as the new State General Secretary of the Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted and Gazetted Officers (APNGGO) Association.

 A. Vidyasagar from Vijayawada has been elected as the new State General Secretary of the Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted and Gazetted Officers (APNGGO) Association. He will officially take charge during the state executive meeting scheduled for the 31st of this month in Vijayawada. CH Purushottam Naidu, the current general secretary, will retire from his position in the commerce department on December31, and according to APNGGO bylaws, retirement from a government department also means retirement from the association. Consequently, an election will be held on that day to fill the vacant post of State General Secretary.

The executive committees of the 13 common districts across the state unanimously proposed Vidyasagar’s name for the position, which was subsequently finalized by the state president, KV Shiva Reddy. On the 31st, there will be a farewell ceremony for Purushottam Naidu, along with a felicitation ceremony for Vidyasagar, all conducted on the same platform. Following the oath-taking ceremony at the APNGGO Bhavan in Gandhinagar, Vidyasagar will participate in a public meeting at the local gymkhana grounds. He will then lead a large rally back to the APNGGO Bhavan to meet with chiefs and district leaders.

Currently, Vidyasagar serves as the West Krishna president of the APNGGO Association. He has been inspired by social movements since his student days and played an instrumental role in the Samaikyan Andhra struggle behind the scenes, bridging the gap between the government and employees. During the YSRCP regime, government leaders reportedly conspired against Vidyasagar, attempting to prevent him from assuming state leadership.

Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, often referred to as the "Minister of All," made several efforts to keep Vidyasagar out of the state executive committee. However, with the change in government and the upcoming retirement of the state Chief Secretary, all district executive committees have now unanimously resolved to support Vidyasagar's elevation to the position. In another four months, KV Shiva Reddy, the current state president of APNGGO, will retire, and the district executive committees have already proposed Vidyasagar as a candidate for that post as well.
