Andhra Pradesh Congress President Y S Sharmila launched a scathing attack on Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, former Chief Minister, criticizing his demand for opposition status despite the public's rejection of his party's leadership. She pointed out that Jagan’s absence from the Assembly, where he was elected as an MLA, is an insult to democratic processes and urged him to resign if he refuses to fulfill his duties. Sharmila accused Jagan of failures on major issues like liquor prohibition, the Polavaram irrigation project, Amaravati development, and fee reimbursement, suggesting these missteps led to his party's diminished representation of just 11 seats.

She questioned his reluctance to participate in Assembly sessions and urged YSRCP legislators to fulfill their responsibilities or seek a fresh mandate. Reacting to derogatory social media posts, Sharmila accused Jagan and his followers of using social media to target her and her family, calling for stricter police action against offensive online content. She demanded an impartial investigation, asserting that Jagan has manipulated the police force for personal gains and expressing disappointment over perceived police inaction.

Labeling the AP state budget as a “fraud,” Sharmila criticized the government’s allocation as unrealistic and election-driven. She noted the lack of funding for schemes like Mahila Shakti, child welfare, free transport for women, and unemployment benefits.

She argued that Chandrababu Naidu’s promises lacked credibility and did not address rising electricity rates or provide relief to struggling citizens.
