Sixteen-year-old Kamya Karthikeyan from Mumbai has set a world record in mountaineering. She has made history by becoming the youngest girl to climb the highest mountains on each of the seven continents. Kamya has successfully conquered Mount Kilimanjaro (Africa), Mount Elbrus (Europe), Mount Kosciuszko (Australia), Mount Aconcagua (South America), Mount Denali (North America),
 
Mount Everest (Asia), and Mount Vinson (Antarctica). Accompanied by her father, Commander Karthikeyan, Kamya reached Mount Vinson and completed the Sapta Parva climbing challenge on December 24. A class 12 student at the Navy Children’s School in Mumbai, she has been honored by the Indian Navy. Kamya's next goal is to journey to both the North Pole and the South Pole.
