Sankranthi cheer to farmers with swift grain payments Rs 6083 cr in 24 hours

Minister for Civil Supplies Nadendla Manohar announced that an impressive 27 lakh metric tons (MT) of grain has been procured from 4,15,066 farmers during the Kharif season, with payments totaling Rs. 6,083.69 crore deposited directly into farmers' accounts within 24 hours.

Highlighting the efficiency of the current coalition government led by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, the minister emphasized that this initiative is aimed at uplifting farmers and ensuring their welfare.

"We are not just procuring grain but ensuring that payments are made swiftly within 24 hours," Nadendla Manohar stated, comparing the current performance with the previous regime.

He criticized the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) for its inefficiency, noting that during their tenure, grain was procured from only 2,12,431 farmers, and even payments were often delayed or incomplete.

The minister took to social media platform Ex (formerly Twitter) to share updates, stating: “We collected grain from 4,15,066 farmers during the Kharif season. So far, Rs. 6,083.69 crore has been deposited directly into their accounts.

The previous YSRCP regime failed to even pay the farmers properly. The coalition government has brought Sankranti cheer to the families of farmers.” The current government’s commitment to farmer welfare is evident through its proactive measures. Minister Manohar pointed out that such steps reflect the coalition’s focus on addressing farmers’ concerns effectively and ensuring financial stability.
