BRS leaders likely to join TDP, sparks buzz in Telangana politics

In a set back to BRS in Telangna, Former Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA Thigala Krishna Reddy has announced his decision to join the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) following a meeting with TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu. Krishna Reddy, who once served as the mayor of Hyderabad during Naidu’s tenure as Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh, expressed confidence in reviving the TDP’s influence in Telangana and praised Naidu’s leadership in developing Hyderabad and Cyberabad into thriving urban centers.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Krishna Reddy lauded Chandrababu Naidu for his visionary leadership, attributing Hyderabad’s modern infrastructure to Naidu’s efforts. “I will soon join the TDP and work to bring its former glory back to Telangana,” Reddy asserted, indicating his commitment to strengthening the party in the state. Mallareddy’s meeting with Naidu fuels speculation Adding fuel to the political buzz, former Minister and MLA Chamakura Mallareddy also met with Chandrababu Naidu at his residence in Jubilee Hills on Monday.

Although the meeting was officially to extend a personal invitation for Mallareddy’s granddaughter’s wedding, political circles are abuzz with speculation that the former BRS leader may be considering a return to the TDP fold. Mallareddy, who was previously associated with the TDP until 2014 before shifting to the BRS after the formation of Telangana, reportedly discussed several key issues with Naidu during the meeting.

Accompanying him were Malkajgiri MLA Marri Rajasekhar Reddy and former mayor Thigala Krishna Reddy, both of whom were also part of the talks. Sources suggest that Mallareddy’s discussions with Naidu went beyond mere pleasantries, as they reportedly touched on Telangana-related issues, including the facilitation of letters from the state for Tirumala darshan. Rumors are rife that Mallareddy is contemplating a political comeback with TDP, along with Marri Rajasekhar Reddy and Thigala Krishna Reddy.

In a recent meeting with his core supporters, the former minister reportedly deliberated on rejoining the party he once represented in Parliament. Mallareddy, who joined BRS after the creation of Telangana and served as a minister, is believed to be considering a return to his political roots with TDP, particularly in light of changing political dynamics in the state.

The speculation surrounding Mallareddy’s potential return to TDP comes in the wake of the BRS’s significant defeat in the recent assembly elections, a development that has dramatically shifted Telangana’s political landscape. In this context, Mallareddy’s discussions with Chandrababu Naidu have sparked a sensation, with many predicting that he could soon don the TDP’s yellow scarf once again.
