Borugadda Anil in Police Custody

The police have arrested Borugadda Anil, a known troublemaker who acted as an unconstitutional force during the YCP regime and frequently used abusive language on social media. Following his criticisms of former Chief Minister Jagan, Anil launched a social media rampage claiming to be related to him.

After the coalition government was formed, he went into hiding, reportedly spending time in Hyderabad and Bangalore. Initially, the police tried to apprehend him but later became quiet due to pressure from a superior officer.

Feeling secure, especially after observing the police response to the attacks on the TDP office and Chandrababu’s house, Anil returned to his home on Amaravati Road in Guntur. Consequently, the Pattabhipuram police arrested him there on Wednesday. He was taken into custody for insults and threats made on social media before the election results were announced on June 1.

Anil’s actions have been numerous and troubling. He issued warnings to various leaders, including Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, and dissident YCP leaders such as Raghuramakrishna Raju and Kotam Reddy Sridhar Reddy. His inflammatory remarks included personal insults and obscene comments about their families, aimed at spreading unrest in the community.

Jagan was particularly angered by Anil’s threats, such as claiming he could wake up Chandrababu in half an hour if he wanted to. During an earlier investigation, police even recovered deadly weapons from Anil’s vehicle.

To date, around 15 criminal cases have been registered against Borugadda Anil across the state, and a rowdy sheet has been opened at the Arundal Peta Police Station.
