Police have filed a case against two booth level officers in Maharashtra’s Palghar district for allegedly failing to distribute voter slips to electors for the Lok Sabha election scheduled on May 20.
The duo, who are deputy teachers at a Zilla Parishad school in Dahanu,
were appointed as booth level officers for the election work. They were responsible for collecting and distributing the voter slips, but they neglected this duty.
Following a complaint by a naib tehsilar (revenue officer), the police registered a case against the two individuals under provisions of the Representation of the People Act.
