An eight-year-old girl has allegedly been raped in a private school hostel in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh.

Following a complaint in this regard, the police have registered a case against three persons under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 376 (rape) and provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Although the names of the accused are mentioned in the FIR, their identity is being established.

The police are trying to ascertain when the incident took place. The victim’s medical examination is underway, and her statement is being recorded.

The investigation is ongoing, and the accused will be arrested once their identity is established. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has ordered a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the case.
