BJP Yuva Morcha protests at Jagan’s residence over Tirumala Laddu adulteration issue

Leaders of the BJP Yuva Morcha (BJYM) laid siege to the residence of former Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in Tadepalli on Sunday, protesting the alleged adulteration of ghee used in the preparation of the revered Srivenkateswara Swami Laddu Prasadam.

The protest, which saw agitators camped at the gates of Jagan’s residence, escalated into a tense situation as police attempted to disperse the crowd. The BJYM leaders accused Jagan of desecrating the sanctity of the Tirumala Laddu and demanded a public apology from him. Clashes ensued between the police and the protestors, leading to a scuffle at the entrance. Undeterred, the BJYM members broke through the main gate and advanced towards the YSR Congress Party (YCP) office, where they defaced the walls by pouring red vermilion.

The protestors, raising slogans against Jagan and TTD former chairman Y V Subbareddy, accused them of betraying the Hindu community. In a symbolic gesture, the agitators poured red vermilion on the gate of Jagan’s house and attempted to enter through another side, but were blocked by the closed gate. As tensions escalated, an effigy was burned in front of the YCP office and Jagan’s residence, with protestors chanting “Down Down Y V Subbareddy” and branding Jagan a “Hindu traitor.”
