Badminton player Sindhu good starts in  Olympics

India’s top badminton player PV Sindhu had a strong start at the Paris Olympics. She won her first group stage match against Maldivian player Razak with a score of 21-9, 21-6. This victory has boosted her confidence for the upcoming matches. On the first day of the Paris Olympics 2024, India did not secure any medals.

Manu Bhaker, however, made history by becoming the first Indian woman shooter to qualify for the final in the 10m women’s shooting event.

She scored 580 points in the qualifiers, securing the third position. Her performance in the 10m air pistol final later today is expected to be medal-worthy.

China secured the first gold of the Paris Games as their shooters Huang Yuting and Sheng Lihao won the 10m air rifle mixed final.

The South Korean pair of Kyung Hyun and Park Hajun secured second place. On the first day, the host country France won two medals in Judo, with Luka Mekadzi earning silver and Shirin Boukli taking home bronze
