HS Prannoy and PV Sindhu advanced to the second round of the Badminton Asia Championships. Prannoy defeated China’s Lu Guang Zu 17-21 23-21 23-21, while Sindhu overcame Malaysia’s Goh Jin Wei 18-21 21-14 21-19. However, Lakshya Sen and Kidambi Srikanth lost their opening round matches, as did Priyanshu Rajawat, MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila. Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand also lost in the women’s doubles opener.
