The central government has announced seven new schemes for agricultural development in the country. These include Digital Agriculture Mission (Rs. 2,817 crores) and Crop Science Scheme (Rs. 3,979 crores). The Union Cabinet, which met under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi on Monday, approved the release of Rs. 14 thousand crores for these schemes. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav disclosed the details. He said that the income of farmers will increase with seven new schemes.
“We have announced the Crop Science Scheme keeping in mind the safety of food and nutrients,” he said. In addition, Rs. 1,202 crores have been allocated for the development of Krishi Science Centers. Meanwhile, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the railway line between Mumbai and Indore. The Minister stated that the construction cost of this 309 km railway line is Rs. 18 thousand crores. Trains will run on this route by 2028-29.
