Arvind Kejriwal’s Aide Bibhav Kumar Seeks Bail in Assault Case Against AAP Member Swati Maliwal

Arvind Kejriwal’s aide, Bibhav Kumar, has applied for bail in the case of assault on AAP Rajya Sabha member Swati Maliwal. According to the Supreme Court website, Kumar submitted the bail plea on July 19, and it was officially registered on July 24. He is contesting the Delhi High Court’s decision on July 12, which denied him bail and stated that the allegations against him are false.

Kumar argues that his custody is no longer necessary as the investigation has concluded. He allegedly assaulted Maliwal on May 13 at Kejriwal’s official residence, resulting in an FIR filed against him on May 16 under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

After his arrest on May 18, the high court denied him bail due to his “considerable influence” and concerns about potential witness tampering or evidence tampering if he were released.
