Two men, Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (21), both from Bihar, were arrested in connection with the firing that took place outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence in Mumbai’s upscale Bandra. They were produced before the metropolitan magistrate court on Thursday, and their police custody was extended till April 29. The police sought the extension of their custody by four days on the grounds that they needed to unearth the motive behind the firing. The accused allegedly fired outside Salman Khan’s house at the Galaxy Apartment in Bandra on April 14 before fleeing the spot on a motorbike. The Mumbai police’s crime branch later recovered two pistols, magazines, and bullets from the Tapi river in Gujarat during a search operation to recover weapons allegedly used in the firing. Jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his younger brother Anmol Bishnoi have been declared “wanted accused” in the case, and the police are investigating the motive behind the firing.
