The people of Andhra Pradesh can get all government services using their mobile phones soon. The State government has made plans to introduce 100 public services through mobile phones. Minister for IT and HRD Nara Lokesh made an interesting announcement in this regard during his speech at the leadership summit which was held in New Delhi a day ago.
The state government wants to introduce this initiative first in Amaravati. Later it would be expanded across the State. Lokesh, who holds the IT ministry, has introduced several new technology systems in the previous government and also the Telugu Desam party.
Already the State government has decided to include Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the governance. Apart from this, the state government wants to establish an AI university in the AP’s capital Amaravati. It may be recalled that N Chandrababu Naidu has special recognition as tech savvy Chief Minister. He is also one of the persons involved in the policy making and promotion of new IT and telecom policies in the then NDA government led by Atal Bihari Vazpayee. Nara Lokesh, the successor of Chandrababu Naidu, also of the Telugu Desam party, focused on technology introduction in the public service.
The State government used drones during the recent flood relief operations in Vijayawada. It is the first of its kind in the history of flood relief operations. Similarly the state government started door to door skill census. The state government wants to introduce several schemes based on the details of the skill census.
Nara Lokesh explained the importance of technology and he will be taking part in a global synergy meet and also encourage startups. It may be noted that the state government started paperless cabinet meetings. Moreover, the technology revolution would change the fate of Andhra Pradesh, CM Chandrababu Naidu repeatedly says in his speeches. As per the plans, the AP state would witness new developments in the administration with technology support, said one official.
