AP Flood Victims : The heartfelt support to flood victims across the globe became a point of discussion everywhere. The Telugus and people who have relations with Andhra Pradesh showed their kindness by extending unprecedented support to the flood victims. People from all over the State and various countries expressed their solidarity. Chief Minister’s Relief Fund received hundreds of crores from people from various walks of life.
The 10 lakh employees of the State government donated a one-day salary of Rs 120 crore as a major part in the total donations. The police department of Andhra Pradesh donated Rs 12 crore while the IAS Officers Association also presented a one day salary. Similarly many associations, individuals, business organizations, industrialists, education managements, film industry personalities, political parties, leaders, legislators and Non Resident Indians extended their support by donating crores of rupees to help the flood ravaged victims. As per the preliminary reports, nearly Rs 500 crore amount has been donated by the different section of people to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
Several students and children donated from their savings money. Former MLA Putumbaka Bharathi donated her bangles for flood relief operations. The majority of the donors expressed their solidarity to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu who led the flood relief operation by spending 24×7 during the 10 days flood period. He slept at night in a bus at the collector’s office in Vijayawada city until the end of the relief operation. Interestingly the hard work of Chandrababu Naidu gained the attention of the public.

Naidu took the Chief Minister’s responsibility amidst many challenges after the State bifurcation and the misrule of YSRCP. In this backdrop, Chandrababu Naidu started his journey in dire conditions though the people have trust in his leadership. After taking charge three months ago, he had to face a flood challenge. The whole situation motivated the people across the globe to extend support to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and people of Andhra Pradesh.
Some donors expressed their intention to share the burden of the Chief Minister who was working committedly at the age of 74. The people, especially TDP leaders, workers and legislators of various districts donated groceries and other essentials. The majority of ministers and senior officers also took part in the operation.
